Nutritional Assistance Programs

The Office of Housing and Community Development provides several programs that offer nutritional assistance.


Food Bank Program

The Food Bank Program provides food every three months to eligible applicants.


Applicants must meet the program's income guidelines and be a resident of Assumption Parish.

Call 985-369-2026 to make an appointment.  On initial appointment, applicant must provide the following documentation:

  • Picture ID or Driver's License for all individuals living in the household 18 years of age or older
  • Proof of income
  • A current household Bill for applicant (e.g., gas bill, water bill, electric bill)

Food for Seniors

Food for Seniors provides food every month to qualified applicants who are 60 years of age or older.


 Applicants must meet the program's income guidelines and be a resident of Assumption Parish.
